Time Management & Self-Management is extremely important to ensure you are getting the most out of your day. Whether it be at work or home, you can apply the same principles to be your best version of YOU every day.
There are a few ways you can get the most out of your day and we are going to show you how…
Step 1. Eat Breakfast
This may seem silly, but breakfast is the most important meal of the day. By having a healthy breakfast, you are kick starting your metabolism and fuelling your body with plenty of energy to keep you going throughout the day. Gary Player, a famous South African golfer, states you should eat breakfast like a King, Lunch like a Prince and Dinner like a Pauper.
Step 2. Create a “To Do” List
Knowing what tasks need to be done in a day is very important in managing your time effectively. Prioritise tasks according to what needs to be done first and foremost, ending with the not so important tasks.
Understanding your peak is also a great idea to tackle the more difficult tasks. You may find you are more focused and motivated first thing in the morning, use this time to make the most out of your energy.
Step 3. Take Regular Breaks
It is almost physically impossible for someone to continuously work without stopping and not make any errors, or more importantly, wear yourself out. Taking short breaks every couple of hours will help to regain your thoughts and energy levels. Make a cup of tea, get up and walk around if you’re stationed at a desk, sit down and rest for 5 minutes if you’re always on your feet. Make time for healthy snacks and lunch throughout the day too to refuel your systems and you should be refreshed and ready to go!
Step 4. Know Your Limits
Don’t over extend yourself. If you set goals too high, you might not meet them and in turn feel disappointed, drained and defeated. Be realistic as to what you can achieve in the day.
Step 5. Make Time For YOU
The most important thing to remember is to take time for yourself. You may be asking “why will this help me with being productive?”. Let me tell you why… When you’re happy, you’re motivated, you enjoy life and all its glory! Take advantage of these moments and be the best possible version of YOU!
